Patch Notes: Halloween, Interactive Seating, and Community Fixes
Most of this update comes directly from your reports. These are problems described by players, investigated until we found their causes, and corrected, often by comparing the current behavior with the original RaiderZ.
Alongside these fixes, Halloween has arrived with new content and a few features that were never available in the original game.
Halloween is here
Ingen Freeport has been decorated for Halloween, and Between the Worlds is now open.
The content includes six new quests, bosses, and monster waves working as intended. Secret Grasslands, Sacred Forest, Aquavertex, and the Halloween maze areas have also been updated.
A large selection of new mounts, costumes, and effects arrives with the event. The Halloween banner has also returned to the loading screen and will be shown once whenever the game is started.
Take a seat
Characters can now sit on chairs, benches, stools, and stumps found throughout the world.
Approach an available seat and press the sit key. Your character will move into the correct position and face the proper direction.
Several chairs and benches in Ingen can already be used, along with tables, stools, and even a carriage. More interactive seats will be added in the future.
Preview mounts before using them
The item preview window now supports mounts. When previewing a mount, your character is shown riding it, and the window expands automatically to display the complete model.
Combat fixes based on player reports
- Your own HP bar no longer drops twice. Using a skill or maintaining a buff that consumes HP could make the bar lose much more health than the character had actually lost. In some cases, it could display 0 while the character was still alive. The bar now correctly matches the health recorded by the server.
- Healing and threat once again follow the original rules. A heal over time now generates threat once, based on the HP it actually restored. The healer's own healing bonus no longer incorrectly increases that value. For group healing, threat considers only the largest individual heal, preventing every nearby monster from being drawn to the healer.
- Skill chains now respond better for players with higher ping. Some follow-up skills could be refused because they reached the server just before their activation window. The client now waits for the correct moment before sending the next skill.
- Using an item while running no longer causes the character to slide. Items that allow movement continue working while running. Items that require the character to remain still are refused with a message, just like equivalent skills. Auto-run also stops correctly before using an item with a cast time.
- Possession now receives its intended cooldown adjustment.
- Bosses no longer return suddenly to their previous position after leaps or charges. Diago and other bosses could snap back to their starting point when moving across a slope. They now complete the movement normally, and only real obstacles stop them.
Auto-run in PvP zones and Brune's Glory
Auto-run can no longer be used inside PvP zones or the Brune's Glory arena.
Attempting to activate it in these locations displays an explanation in system chat. If auto-run carries a character into a PvP zone, it stops when the game announces the area.
Movement through the directional keys or mouse clicks continues to work normally.
Storage
- The Account Storage no longer accepts certain free items granted separately to each character, including starter reward chains, free mount items, free Premium time, revival items, daily currencies, and dungeon keys. This prevents rewards intended for individual characters from being repeatedly collected and transferred to a main character.
- When a storage window is open, items that cannot be deposited appear dimmed in the inventory. This applies to Account Storage, the special tabs of personal storage, and guild storage.
- Inventory Sort is disabled while the player is speaking with an NPC.
- The personal storage tab Premium 1 is now called General 1 and accepts any item. Premium 2 and Premium 3 remain unchanged.
- The extended inventory Sort button now has the same 10-second cooldown as the main inventory.
- Guild storage now keeps a history of item and Gold deposits and withdrawals. The Gold balance has also been corrected, and every action follows the permissions assigned to each guild grade.
Keys work as entry passes again
In the previous patch notes, we announced that the entry buff granted by keys had been removed. We have decided to restore this behavior.
Using a key once again grants its corresponding entry buff. Depending on the key, this buff lasts from 20 minutes to one hour. While it is active, the player can return to the area without consuming another key.
This applies to Hell Hound and every other keyed area.
Interface fixes
- Clicking an item to equip it now places it in the active weapon set instead of always using set I.
- The status and inspect windows now consider only the weapon set currently in use.
- Equipping a two-handed costume weapon in set I no longer removes the appearance of set II. The two-handed weapon indicator in the equipment window also appears on the correct set.
- Item enchantment glow no longer appears one level higher than the actual enchantment.
- Buff descriptions no longer display the incomplete line “by .”.
- The
/invitecommand displays its chat message again. - The World button in the map window switches tabs correctly again.
- The “Revive at nearest soulstone” option once again revives the character at the nearest Soulstone instead of sending them to the start of the map.
- At the Riode sensor outside Saint Fhannel Monastery, the “Which field do you wish to enter?” option no longer disappears after a small character movement.
- In Saint Fhannel Monastery, the oratory door now opens for every player already inside the map after the scene, not only for those who enter later.
- Mouse wheel zoom works again in the public client.
- Elemental dual daggers are no longer displayed at only a fraction of their correct size.
Character voices
Character voices have been restored. Attack shouts, dodges, jumps, deaths, and emotes once again play the correct voice.
Launcher
- We fixed an issue where automatic optimization after an update could damage the launcher's file index. This could display the “Failed to read item details” message and force a download of more than 4 GB. The problem has been corrected, and old files that are no longer needed are now removed automatically.
- If the main server cannot deliver a file, the launcher now switches automatically to a second download server.
- We improved how the launcher handles connection difficulties. When an attempt fails, it automatically tries another connection method and displays a clearer explanation of the problem.
Support for older graphics cards
The game can now start on DirectX 10.1 graphics cards, such as the GeForce 210, which previously could not open the client.
Security and fair play
- The old client has been retired. Only Client 2.0 can connect to the server, so keep the game updated through the launcher.
- We added new server protections against speed changes, teleportation, known cheating tools, and other forms of game manipulation. We also closed an exploit involving in-game scenes and will continue expanding these protections.
- Our anti-cheat system now applies automatic bans in certain confirmed cases. Other detections continue to be reviewed and punished in waves, so the absence of an immediate punishment does not mean that the activity was not identified.
- Any account confirmed to be using programs or tools to gain an unfair advantage will be permanently banned. The ban will not be removed, regardless of the account's age, progress, or value.
- We also strengthened the protection of communication between the game and the server against manipulation attempts.
